It’s always so amazing to see the work of women who put their heart and soul into their businesses, hobbies, and creative endeavors. The things that catch my eye when looking for my ambassadors – women who work hard, are willing to put themselves out there for what they love and believe in, support other women, and are just, well, all around amazing! Every one of the women on the team are all of these and more, and I’m excited to share a bit about brand ambassador Kristin Tweedale with you today!
Kristin is a feminist scrapbooker, passionate about helping women document their lives through photos, stories, and pretty paper supplies. She uses her ‘big girl’ camera to take photos of her adventures around the US as well as photos of her everyday life in East Lansing, Michigan. Learn how to get your photos off the camera and into scrapbook albums you’ll cherish for a lifetime at http://rukristin.com/blog/
How long have you been a scrapbooker?
I’ve been a scrapbooker for more than half my life. I first started scrapbooking as part of a project early on in a high school English class. I’ve been making albums and documenting my life with photos, words, and stuff ever since.
What made you decide to pursue scrapbooking?
I worked in local scrapbook shops throughout high school and college and started publishing my pages on my blog, and later on in magazines. After my partner started applying to graduate school at different places around the country, I wanted to create a business for myself that I would be able to bring along with me wherever we wound up.
How has your scrapbooking evolved over the years?
My scrapbooking has evolved in countless ways over the years, from different album sizes, to different photo sizes, to adding a ton of journaling, to keeping it super minimalist. I founded my business in 2013 to help women tell their stories through scrapbooking, it’s evolved from a single girls’ night challenge to a multi-media destination for women who want to scrapbook their lives.
What kind of camera(s) do you own and what role do they play in your life?
I own a Sony Alpha which I’ve had for about ten years now. I have small hands, and it fits in my grip perfectly. I love to take it with me on adventures around the country. I’m 25 states into my 50 states goal. Hanging photos of our adventures makes me unbelievably happy.
What’s your favorite thing about your bluebird chic strap?
I’m a gray kinda girl. I love the basics, and I love things with multiple purposes. My woven charcoal scarf strap matches any outfit I want to wear, it’s perfect with jeans and a tshirt at the park or in a cocktail dress at a wedding.
